Camregan Castle View
Camregan Castle View
Looking north-west from the site of Camregan Castle, showing the remains of the original earthwork defences which may have contained a moat. There's not much left of this 13th century castle, which was a stronghold of the Cathcart family. The buildings in the distance are at Grangestone Industrial Estate. The area that looks like a loch is a polythene-covered field where some of the famous Ayrshire Tatties are growing.
