SK4349 : Curtain Wall of Codnor Castle

taken 12 years ago, near to Codnor, Derbyshire, England

Curtain Wall of Codnor Castle
Curtain Wall of Codnor Castle
A fragment of the historic remains of the castle. The building has been in a ruinous state since at least 1727 - the date of the oldest known picture, and stone from the site has been recycled into the fabric of no fewer than 7 local farms. One of these - Castle Farm, visible beyond the wall was derelict as of the date of posting.
