Dinorwig is a pump storage scheme. Water from the upper reservoir is released during the day and energy is created by the downflowing water. At night water is pumped back to the upper reservoir. This model shows the high pressure shaft (blue), the turbines and generators (yellow) and the tailgates (brown).
