In the foreground, the Garshake Burn flows away from the photographer's position, having just emerged from the NS4175 : Witch's Tunnel. The Overtoun Burn flows in from the left. Their combined waters, on the right, are NS4075 : Gruggies Burn.

The path on the left is part of the Nature Trail, the name given to the woodland paths in the Overtoun Estate (see end-note of NS4276 : Overtoun House).
Overtoun House Nature Trail
Locally, the woodland walks within the Overtoun Estate are still collectively known as "the Nature Trail", in memory of the fact that they used to be (circa 1980) laid out as a nature trail with numbered marker posts. New waymarkers were added, both here and in the adjacent Lang Craigs Woodland ( LinkExternal link ), in May 2015. For more on the Nature Trail, see Overtoun House: LinkExternal link
