Cairnryan lighthouse & remains of military railway - (2)
From 1969 to 1991, the area of the former military complex at Cairnryan was used for ship scrapping. Famous ships demolished here include HMS Centaur, HMS Eagle, HMS Ark Royal, HMS Blake and HMS Bulwark. Much of the area is unsafe and fenced off, while parts of the South Deep Water Wharf have collapsed. For more information on Cairnryan, see: Link
