The green device puzzled me. Beside it seems to be a plastic container about the size, but not the shape, of a modern plastic milk bottle, with plastic funnel inserted.

Is it an amateur rain gauge? What is the green box and pipe? Is it something to do with an underground reservoir? Answers on a postcard......
