The lochan is one of a small group which lie just north of the summit of Beinn nan Dubh-lochan. Beyond is the very much larger Loch Bracadale. The islands in the loch are Oronsay (on the right), Tarner (furthest away, approximately centrally) and part of Wiay (on the left).
