The Anglican parish church is dedicated to Saint Margaret. The church is an ancient sandstone building, built some time before 1612 and restored between 1863 and 1865. It seats about 80 people.
The church is famed for its Tennyson connection, George Tennyson (known as 'Dr. Tennyson'), the father of Alfred Lord Tennyson (poet laureate) was rector here and it was at Somersby that Alfred was born on 6th August 1809, the fourth of 12 children. He was baptised in the church.
