NO4828 : Devils bears and oxen

3 km from Tayport, Fife, Great Britain

Devils bears and oxen
Devils bears and oxen
According to the interpretation plaque at this point, a monk surveying these lands, which belonged to St Andrews Cathedral in the 1100s, described a lawless region populated by "devils, bears and oxen." It is much more civilised today.
