Bench, Old Lifebout House, Windmill and St John's Church
View from the coastal footpath. Behind the bench is the Old Lifeboat House, a Grade II listed building, which closed in 2004 and was for many years a museum, telling the story of Lytham lifeboats from 1851 to the present day. To the left is the windmill was built in 1805 on what is now Lytham Green. It was worked until 1919 when a fire destroyed most of the machinery. It has been restored several times. One of the four sails was destroyed in storm on October 16th 2011. A new sail is due to be fitted in May 2012. In the distance on the left is St John's Parish Church on East Beach which was built in 1849. It has been for many years the Lifeboat men's church. The vicar of St John's is Chaplain to the crew.
