Marton, old School house and former school

This was once the village school serving the villages of Marton, West Newton and New Ellerby. It closed in 1984 due to the dangerous state of the building and has since been lovingly re-built and it a private house. The school entrance was in the single storey extension on the left hand side looking at the picture and the school rooms were behind the house. I remember the toilets were in a separate block in the playground and, in the early 1970s the garden of the house was completely enclosed by a tall hedge
