SK4623 : The old road's hedgeline

taken 12 years ago, near to Long Whatton, Leicestershire, Great Britain

The old road's hedgeline
The old road's hedgeline
The photo is taken from the present Diseworth to Long Whatton road as approaches the M1 from the W. On the right of this photo you can see a band of shorter grass. It is the track of the old road. The hedge to the right was a roadside hedge.

The A42 was built in 1990 and a new road was built to cross over it. The car in the photo is on this new road and is about to go under the M1.

On one occasion, late at night, we saw a badger walking through this underpass along the pavement!
