Sitting in a quarter acre plot this Grade II Listed former Wealden Hall House was built in the late 15th early 16th century and restored to a 7 bedroom 3128 sq.ft. house retaining a rare smoke loft in the late 20th century. The unequal length bays are possibly due to right bay being re-built in the 17th century. In the late 1970s the owners, who had spent 20 years restoring it, dated the house to the early 15th century and described it as an oblong building with a lofty central hall with two storeys each end.
TQ8354 : Eyhorne Cottage This large mansion was divided into five flats at some point in the mid-twentieth century. I lived there briefly in 1976 before moving up the hill to Bredgar.
