Ironbridge and St Luke's
Ironbridge and St Luke's
Looking across the Ironbridge to the town with the same name. The church of St Luke stand prominently on the hillside.

The tower contains a three dial clock. Unusually the orientation is the reverse of the majority of churches, the sanctuary being at the west end and the tower at the east end. This is due to the fact that it was discovered that the land at the west end would not bear the weight of a tower. Coincidentally not much further down the Severn stands SO7192 : St. Mary, Bridgnorth which is oriented North-South.
