Dark sky over Luton Airport
It's around 3pm and it was a bumpy ride down through the black clouds and bumpy again when taking off again a few hours later.
Dark sky over Luton Airport :: TL1121
The layer of dark cloud hung over the airport and surrounding airport like a giant black carpet, blanking out the sun and providing a bumpy ride for passengers as the aircraft passed through it.

There were sporadic heavy showers in the late afternoon and early evening. Airport operations were not affected, but some passengers got very wet walking between the gates and the aircraft as there are no air-bridges at Luton.

This was the start of a very wet weekend for much of England - fortunately I was heading to Scotland, where the weekend weather was warm and sunny.
