This view is from the side of the Tregaron-Abergwesyn mountain road, looking downstream towards Abergwesyn.

The Afon Irfon has its source in the hills near Bryn Garw, about seven miles east of Strata Florida Abbey. Then it flows south, through the village of Abergwesyn to Llanwrtyd Wells. Here it turns eastward and flows through Llangammarch, Builth Wells and eventually into the River Wye. Its length is about 20 miles.
