St Mary's, Bowker's Green near Aughton
Looking across the fields to St Mary's church in Bowker's Green just outside Aughton. From the road this church looks more like a house than a church except for a grotto with a statue of the Virgin Mary in the garden as pre Catholic Emancipation Act Churches and Chapels were only allowed in outlying areas and had to resemble farm buildings etc.
