SO8555 : Railway panorama from Rainbow Hill, Worcester
near to Worcester, Worcestershire, Great Britain

Railway panorama from Rainbow Hill, Worcester
A more general [- but a little blurred -] view on the same day as SO8555 : Elevated view of railways from Rainbow Hill, Worcester to Shrub Hill Station in the middle distance, across the Worcester Loop line and dual Locomotive Depot. The 'Passenger' Shed is in the centre, the 'Goods' Shed on the right, the coaling and ash-disposal 'facilities' nearer; over on the left is the ex-GWR Locomotive Works and part of the Goods Yard. Between the two engine sheds is the 'Vinegar Branch', which goes down through the town to serve various industrial premises and is famous for its railway signals controlling road traffic. The general smoke obliterates the course of the lines between Shrub Hill and Foregate Street; the Cathedral is just visible through the gloom.
