Roman Lincoln - Basilica
Roman Lincoln - Basilica
Celtic name Lindon was subsequently latinized to Lindum and given the title Colonia when it was converted into a settlement for army veterans. Hence the City of Lin-coln. This is the remains of the basilica, a large meeting place. It is one of the highest non military Roman walls in the UK.
