The Cutty Sark in all her glory
A much photographed subject, but finally after six years "under wraps", the famous clipper was re-opened to the public by Queen Elizabeth II on 25 April 2012. The boat has been raised several metres with a glass "skirt" around the hull representing the normal waterline (but with tinted glass below it also meaning that you have to pay to get in and see the hull).
Technical note: with a normal 35mm lens I had to stand 80m away to get the whole length of the boat in view.

The Cutty Sark
The Cutty Sark is a clipper ship. Built in 1869, she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion. She has been berthed at Greenwich since 1954.
Badly damaged by fire on 21 May 2007 while undergoing conservation, the vessel has been restored and reopened to the public on 25th April 2012.
