Station, Station Square, Coventry
Writing in 1966, Pevsner described Coventry's as "one of the best recent stations in England". It is all clean and spacious, like a Miesian glass box (containing the booking hall SP3378 : Booking hall and concourse, Coventry railway station) with an oversailing roof. The listing comments that it is "outstanding architecturally, particularly for its spatial qualities and detailing". Built 1959-62 to the designs of W.R. Headley, Architect for the British Railways Midland Region. Grade II listed.
Nice to see the iconic BR sign still in situ.
