The Drover's Arms on Eppynt
The Drover's Arms on Eppynt
When the military powers-that-be took over the Eppynt in June 1940 this old tavern, along with many local farms, chapels and cottages all came into War Office ownership. The area has of course remained a vital training area and artillery range ever since and the tavern has remained shuttered and empty.

A sad and poignant sight. Especially with the military mind imposing its sense of humour with the fake pub sign.

(Yes, I know I 'sleep safe in my bed' and 'live in a free country' etc etc...)
