Electric Wharf, Coventry Canal
The industrial looking buildings round the bend of the canal are the former Coventry electricity generating plant, dating from the late 19th century. It has been refurbished in recent years and converted to a variety of live-work spaces and apartments, known collectively as Electric Wharf.
Coventry Canal
The Coventry Canal is 38 miles long and joins Coventry to the Trent and Mersey Canal at Fradley Junction near Lichfield. It has connections with the Oxford Canal, the Ashby Canal, and the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. Built between 1768 and 1789. Although started by James Brindley it was completed by other engineers.
