NS4560 : Old field boundary

Old field boundary
Old field boundary
The dyke was part of a field system associated with the farmstead of Stanelymoor: see NS4560 : The remains of Stanelymoor for the main description of that site. The farm buildings themselves have gone, but they were located in the uneven area to the right of the nearest tree, at the right-hand edge of the picture (see the link just cited).
Stanelymoor field system
Although the farmstead of Stanelymoor has been cleared away, the site of its farm buildings, beside a footpath in Gleniffer Braes Country Park, can still be picked out. A field system associated with the farmstead is still visible.
