Memorial to Mary MacDonald (1789-1872)
Gaelic poet and crofter's wife, born at Brolas(s) and died at Ardtun. Best known for the hymn 'Leanabh an Aigh', translated as 'Child in the manger'. It was set to a traditional Scottish tune 'Bunessan'. The tune is also well known as that used for 'Morning has broken', with words by Eleanor Farjeon.
