Information panel at the Macquarie Mausoleum NM5439 : The Macquarie Mausoleum at Gruline. The site is owned by the National Trust of Australia [New South Wales] and is looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. Lachlan Macquarie [1761-1824] was born nearby on Ulva and, after a distinguished military career, was Governor of New South Wales from 1810-1821.
