NY1616 : Near Ruddy Beck
near to Buttermere, Cumbria, Great Britain

Near Ruddy Beck
'Near' is part of the name of the beck: it is not just 'near Ruddy Beck'. There is also a 'Far Ruddy Beck'. Near Ruddy Beck flows into Buttermere Dubs, which can just be seen beyond the bare trees. Buttermere Dubs is the outflow from Buttermere to Crummock Water, which drains into the River Cocker.
The prominent peak just right of centre is Whiteless Pike. The nearer, but lower, gorse-covered hill to the far left is Rannerdale Knotts.
