Posbury Clump Quarry
Posbury clump quarry (accessed via permission by Posbury St Francis Convent). This shows potassium basalt extrusive lavas (Permian) interacting with wet sediments, baking and entraping them. This creates a rubbly mass, some of less sediment rich areas were good for building stone. The top of the quarry shows the best view of a flow direction. These rocks contain 120ppb gold (ground levels usually 4ppb).
