Greater Manchester
Greater Manchester
View of Greater Manchester as seen from Wild Bank Hill on the outskirts of Stalybridge. Manchester is one of Englandís great northern cities; it was one of the leaders in the industrialisation of the world. Although the cotton mills have long gone and many of the massive engineering and chemical works have closed the doors for the last time Manchester is still a busy thriving modern city. Whilst the university is famous for its groundbreaking scientific work, music and arts are well catered for and at this moment in time the city boasts the two greatest football teams in the realm.
