The summit trig point on the Sugar Loaf
I wonder how many people, over all time, have stood here?
I know that Buffalo Bill has. Apparently he brought his touring Wild West show to Abergavenny in the very early 1900's and his one wish while in town was to climb to this mountain top. Several locals vied to guide the great man and by the time the small group that set off initially made it to the top half the townspeople had joined them and a crowd of a few hundred stood here, pointing out the local landmarks, the neighbouring summits and sharing the moment.
