A bus in Market Place, Derby
Taken in September 1968, this photo shows 217 (UCH 217G) a Daimler Fleetline with Roe 78-seater bodywork in Market Place about to leave on route 88 to Sinfin Lane on the southern edge of Derby. This vehicle was operated by Derby Corporation Omnibus Transport in its bottle green and cream livery. Later in the early 1970s, this bus operator had a blue and light grey livery which was initially applied to the Daimler Fleetlines then to the entire bus fleet. To the right of the bus is a trolleybus traction pole, a reminder that trolleybuses used to operate in Derby from 1932 until September 1967. Bus services in Derby are now operated by Arriva Derby and Trent Barton. Market Place is now a pedestrianised area.
