This is a view of what remains of the Shrewsbury canal at Wappenshall. Sadly the canal is now used only for draining water off the adjacent fields. The canal ran from here through Eyton and Longdon to the Shrewsbury butter market. The footpath & canal has been cleared by the Shrewsbury and Newport canal trust.
