In the Belmaduthy Dam Reserve acid heathland predominates. Here, heathland with juniper, silver birch, pine trees and willow bushes is intersected with calacerous runnels. Much of the juniper is low-lying, and, as seen here, appears to be suffering with red-brown instead of green foliage.
