View eastward, towards Folkestone, Dover etc. on the ex-SER main line from Tonbridge and London etc., also towards Canterbury and Ramsgate (left) and Hastings via Rye (right). The Down 'Man of Kent', 12.55 Charing Cross to Margate via Dover, is headed by Bulleid Light Pacific No. 34084 '253 Squadron' (built 11/48, withdrawn (unrebuilt) 10/65). (Note the fireman perched precariously on the tender while they are taking water - no water-troughs on the SR).
