NT9058 : A steaming pile

A steaming pile
A steaming pile
This mixen is being spread on fields nearby. The warmth produced by the fermentation makes the muckheap steam. It's been there a while, as the smell was a pleasant one of well matured compost. Good news for some crops somewhere.

The field was once a large wood - shown on the 1940's map.
