NZ6604 : Sea mist brushing the moors

near to Westerdale, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Sea mist brushing the moors
Sea mist brushing the moors
All too frequently - especially in spring - a fine day will suddenly turn damp and misty when the wind drives in fog from the North Sea, which is little more than ten miles away.
Seen from in the dale, it often appears as low cloud - but over the moors it's a thick fog blowing along in the wind - creating difficult, disorientating navigation conditions for any unprepared walkers
