These little buildings stand close to a bend on a fast stretch of the A283. Driving past, my first guess was that they were Georgian cottages - I was reminded of properties on the Lloyd Baker Estate, near King's Cross station:Link But there was also something about them that reminded me of early industrial designs - like the fen engine-house at Upware Link

As there is nowhere to park nearby - without encroaching on private property - I eventually arrived here by bike, through Frith Wood. Closer inspection revealed various details which may give clues as to the buildings' history. Taking this shot across the A283 was a bit nerve-racking - the verge is a narrow one, so I was within a few feet of fast-moving vehicles.

I ought to add that I've borrowed the description 'twin cottages' from Shazz, who had been here before me: Link
