Steps, ramp and platform, corner of theatre
The removal of the riverside cafeteria has allowed an access to be formed from the northeast frontage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre around the multi-angular stair tower to join the new riverside terrace. Steps and a ramp from the Bancroft Gardens follow the lines of the building's corner. Speculating: blue brick has been used (a) because free-standing walls need to strong, and (b) 21st-century blue brickwork is distinct from the 1933 orange brickwork of the theatre.
