Signs of love beside Shakespeare's Avon
Signs of love beside Shakespeare's Avon
Arrows through hearts and lots of initials adorn this beech tree overhanging the river. The 'fold' of the bark on the left suggests that the tree has been struck by lightning in the past; the bark has not yet grown over the wound. A view of the tree in context is SP2054 : Beech tree by the Avon, Avonbank Gardens. A restaurant boat was passing.
