Capel Sardis - the highest chapel in Wales
Capel Sardis - the highest chapel in Wales
Built in 1820, Sardis, which stands facing Snowdon at a height of 320m, is the highest chapel in Wales. Hebron, the better-known, but ruinous, chapel on Snowdon SH5858, stands at only 285m absl. Sardis, with its sister chapel, Libanus at Clwt y Bont SH5762, is under the pastoral care of the minister of Capel Penuel, Bangor. Both are affiliated to the Welsh Baptist Church.
