Pool in Dinas Silica Mine Tramway Tunnel
A view back towards the entrance of the tramway tunnel: SN9107 : Silica mine tramway tunnel
The debris in the foreground has fallen from a near vertical shaft out of the left of shot - probably an air shaft. The tunnel has been descending gently to this point so now a large pool, about shin depth at the edges, has formed behind the blockage.
Just a little west of here the main tramway is blocked to the roof by a huge mound of similar debris. Other mine shafts branch off though.
