The Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant was held on the 3rd June 2012 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. It saw over 1000 boats travel the River Thames, between Albert Bridge and Tower Bridge, including the Queen and Royal family on the Spirit of Chartwell barge.

The procession was led by a Belfry boat, followed by man-powered boats led by the royal rowed barge 'Gloriana' LinkExternal link then small Sea Cadet motorboats each carrying a flag of each country from the Commonwealth. The Royal Barge 'Spirit of Chartwell' LinkExternal link followed this, and then many different types of motor boats, starting with historic boats including Dunkirk little boats, services boats such as lifeboats and fireboats, and many pleasure and passenger craft. Between each group were 10 music boats carrying different live bands and choral groups.

A group of tall ships also gathered at Tower Bridge, but did not take part in the procession due to their height and the number of low bridges.

Despite poor weather over 1 million people lined the banks of the River Thames to watch the procession.
