SP5310 : Elsfield Manor

taken 12 years ago, near to Elsfield, Oxfordshire, England

Elsfield Manor
Elsfield Manor
Just in the square by a few metres, this large but rather bleak looking manor house was from 1919 to 1935 the home of the 1st Baron Tweedsmuir of Elsfield, author John Buchan.
I knew about his writing, but I never knew he was governor general of Canada as well.
Apparently so, according to the blue plaque on the wall.
