SP0483 : New roundabout, Selly Oak

near to Selly Oak, Birmingham, Great Britain

New roundabout, Selly Oak
New roundabout, Selly Oak
Part of a recently-constructed road network, seen from the railway line between University and Selly Oak stations as it crosses a bridge over the A38 (which leaves the roundabout on the left). On the right is part of The Oleaster (Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust). The Bourn Brook runs across the image; it can be seen passing beneath a bridge at lower right, and entering the clump of trees in the centre. Expect a new Sainsbury's in this area soon. The two 11-storey tower blocks off to the right are Thirlmere House and Wimdermere House, both 1967.
