Bolingbroke Castle, Old Bolingbroke #2 of 3
To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, The Friends of Bolingbroke Castle arranged the Old Bolingbroke Jubilee Picnic and thanks to the Heritage Trust it was held on the castle site.
It looks rather sparse, but this was at the start of the event and a considerable number of people attended shortly after. There were various activities including Hook-a-Duck, Skittles, Apple Bobbing and Children’s Crown Making, for which there was an award. There was also a raffle with many prizes.
We were treated to live music by a very accomplished guitarist, whose name I have yet to know, and Pedro the clown, who entertained the young children.
In spite of a chill in the air the weather held and the sun shone for most of the day, which was perfect for the flypast with a Spitfire of the BBMF, RAF Coningsby.
A drink was provided for a toast to the Queen and to soak it up a choice three ‘Jubilee’ cakes – The Lincolnshire Co-op provided the ingredients.
First Responders, for whom we are ever grateful, provided First Aid cover and any profits went to them.
This is #2 of 3 of a panorama made up of six images, which were then hand-stitched in Paint Shop Pro. More photographs of the event will appear here Link
