SN7099 : The flooded Afon Dyfi
near to Pennal, Gwynedd, Great Britain

The flooded Afon Dyfi
Viewed from a train on the line between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth. Recent work to raise the track in the vicinity of Dovey Junction station has eliminated much of the disruption caused by flooding of the line but in this case it was deemed that it would be unsafe to continue running trains and the 09:00 service was the last to run from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth for (I believe) the rest of the day. The nearby main road was already under several feet of water in a couple of places and so there was then no way to travel between the two towns.
