taken 12 years ago, near to Braehead, Dumfries And Galloway, Scotland

Red Poppy
The railway embankment at the bottom of my garden is mostly green, and mostly nettles with the exception of a small clump of bright red poppies to brighten up an otherwise pretty dull area.
Looking out my Back Door

After living in Braehead in Dumfries and Galloway for nearly two years it dawned on me that every day I get up and look out of my back door, down the garden and across the old railway embankment, not only do I have a beautiful view, but it changes every day, sometimes within a matter of minutes. I’ve taken some pictures of what I see, however I thought it is now time to chronicle my view and share it. My cottage straddles NX4252 which is Braehead and NX4251 which is also Braehead and Kirkinner so I plan to take regular pictures of the view and upload them to the grid squares on Geograph. Looking out my back door is also an oblique reference to the music I grew up with in the 60’s and for those interested here’s a link to the song of the same name - LinkExternal link
