The post on the left marks this location as one of the points on Mugduck Country Park's history trail; the site shown here, which is at the foot of a crag at the southern end of Gallow Hill, was one of the enclosures associated with the short-lived Craigend Zoo (early 1950s). A built path, with steps, can be seen within that grassy area.
