Chester to Holyhead Railway Line
Chester to Holyhead Railway Line
The distance between the fence on the far left and the fence on the right, behind the trees, indicates that there were several more lines in place here before the 1960s cuts. The two main lines in the middle run from Chester in front, to Holyhead. To the left, in the grass, are some redundant sidings with an abandoned buffer, and in front of the camera is the local line to Mold - well it used to be, before it was cut. Behind the camera, on the other side of the road bridge, there was a small local station, which has also been removed. The local 'line' now seems to provide vehicular access from St David's Terrace to land near the Broughton Aerospace factory.
