Path Through Walker Wood, Stalybridge Country Park
The Stalybridge Country Park is situated just over a mile to the north-east of Stalybridge. The park is set in two distinct areas, firstly, the Brushes Valley at Millbrook, with its four reservoirs running up into the Pennine Moors, and secondly Carrbrook, (Castle Clough and Cowbury). These areas are connected by the Pennine Bridleway and a network of several, smaller footpaths which also take visitors into the Tame Valley, Longdendale and the Peak District.
The Country Park provides a number of habitats from woodland and open grassy areas to wetlands and ponds. Above the park is open countryside where the landscape is dominated by reservoirs and moorland.
